Strawberry Hill

Jamaica

This stylish boutique hotel is hidden high up in the Blue Mountains on a 26-acre estate with spectacular views over Kingston. Built on an 18th-century strawberry plantation, Strawberry Hill has a rich history and epitomizes old colonial Jamaica. It was once a haven for musicians including the legendary Bob Marley and is now a popular celebrity haunt.

This rustic-chic hotel has just 12 elegant Georgian-style cottages and villas nestled on the hillside for maximum privacy. Each one features traditional plantation-style décor and a delightful veranda with a hammock, the perfect spot to enjoy the vistas.

In the restaurant, traditional dishes such as lamb curry and fish stew get a subtle contemporary and local twist.

Additional excellent facilities include a bar, pool with a view, and a spa. Strawberry Hotel is made for relaxation, whether you choose to sip a rum punch by the infinity pool as you admire the views or be pampered by a therapist.

Why we recommend Strawberry Hill

At Strawberry Hill, the infinity pool is the place to be; it’s cooler and since the 1940’s it has played host to the go-to traditional Sunday tea. What's obvious from the start at this property is that it really doesn’t feel like a hotel - more like the family home it once was. While the location is ideal for exploring Kingston and the Blue Mountains, it’s also perfect for simply unplugging and unwinding.
