Con Dao Island, Vietnam

The Six Senses Con Dao is a luxurious all-villa getaway situated in one of Vietnam’s most pristine and under-the-radar locations. Just a short flight from the hustle and bustle of Saigon and you will find this tranquil beach retreat.

The Six Senses Con Dao is hidden away in the South-East Coast of mainland Vietnam in the Con Dao archipelago of islands. The whole area surrounding this luxury resort has been protected as a nature and marine reserve for decades and its pristine beauty is home to many endangered and indigenous species.

The 50 luxury villas, ranging from single-level to duplex and offering one, three and four bedroom accommodation, stretch across a mile of golden sand overlooking the breathtaking seascapes of the turquoise sea. Each villa comes with its own private infinity pool, open-air bathroom and living area. The minimalist touch of the villas has a stylised, simplistic, one-with-nature feel that comes as a perfect complement to the striking vistas outside.

If you’re able to tear yourself away from the luxe interiors of your villa, the Six Senses Con Dao has a whole list of experiences, suitable for all ages and tastes, to keep you entertained in your barefoot-luxury paradise. Explore the ‘market area’– a small village complete with a main street and square resembling a typical village found in the Vietnamese countryside, for a unique cultured shopping experience. Pamper yourself with a holistic full body treatment at the renowned Six Senses Spa or thrill your senses with some water sports ranging from water skiing to diving with dugongs to sailing away on a catamaran yacht.

Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Phu Quoc & Con Dao into a greater Vietnam or Asian holiday. Six Senses Con Dao Testimonials

The whole thing from start to finish was superb so thank you and Lucy for arranging it.

The arrival was very friendly and then our “GEM”, Minh took us on a tour of Six Senses Con Dao while our cases were sent off ahead….

Arriving at the villa, it was just what we had hoped for and more – luxurious but rustic and not over-the-top and with everything we could possibly need…. and a great view and direct access to the beach.  A free bottle of champagne was on ice on arrival and a well-stocked, and not ridiculously priced mini-bar… Minh was great and throughout the week was available at all times but not too “in your face” as in some resorts…

Food throughout the week was fantastic and the chef was able to accommodate changes to the menu as and when we requested it…  the wine was great and reasonably priced (probably because we’re used to Dubai prices but still!) – our only complaint (and it is very minor) is that it would have been nice if the beach side restaurant would have served local food. I’m sure we could have asked to be served local so it was probably our fault but as I said, no big deal.

Breakfast was also great – a lovely way to start the day with a wide range of healthy drinks, food and bloody marys… !

Regarding the activities on offer, we’re used to exploring by ourselves and never go on organised tours so we rented a moped one day and went around the island which is stunning… a great day out but the man-made sights were a bit of a disappointment to be honest (but this is obviously no reflection on the hotel!).. the hotel’s organisation of the moped was very good though and they even gave us a phone in case of any issues which was a nice touch…  Diving was not an option as the vis wasn’t great at the start of the week and by the end of the week I had an ear infection (for which the hotel provided me with free medication) so couldn’t dive but we really appreciated their honesty in telling us that the vis was rubbish and not trying to persuade us to dive despite this… a welcome change from most dive shops.

This was just what we would have expected from such a fantastic hotel and left us with a very warm feeling that they really cared about their guests. In fact that was the overriding feeling all week – that they actually wanted you to have a good time – the service from everyone was genuine, friendly and not over the top…

And the bill at the end of the week was extremely reasonable seeing as we had three meals a day, beers by the pool and at least a bottle of wine most evenings!

So, all-in-all you have two very happy customers so thanks again for organising what really was a fantastic week.
Whilst we don’t like to go back to the same place twice, we will be recommending it to our friends and will certainly be getting in touch with Lucy next time we want a similar kind of holiday!

Thanks again.

Hi Ying,

Our trip was out of this world fantastic! On the island the weather was a mix of cloudy, drizzly interspersed with sun, we didn’t get the opportunity to dive but none of this mattered. We honestly had a brilliant time.

Con Dao Six Senses, ultra romantic, luxurious, a very special place & I feel very lucky to have been able to stay somewhere like this. The staff were exceptional in every sense. I’d definitely go back with my husband, I think the experience with kids would be different, not saying it wouldn’t work, but I really felt it was better suited to being there as a couple. I’d definitely stay/recommend here in a heartbeat.

Thanks for all of your help, patience & guidance with us. Thanks to you, we really had a special holiday.
