M/V Ushuaia is one of the smaller expeditionary ships we offer in Antarctica, accommodating only 88 passengers across 44 cabins. This well-appointed ice-strengthened polar vessel provides good quality mid-range cabins as well as ample deck space. There is an open bridge policy which offers an interesting insight into the navigational planning each day and watching the captain and his crew at work. It’s also a great spot to look out for whales, particularly on those crossings across the Drake Passage.
Whilst she does not offer adventure activities such as kayaking, their team of expeditionary staff offer fine experiences by zodiac boat to cruise the waters of Antarctica on daily excursions as well as landing on the continent to see the flora and fauna up close and walk through the stunning landscapes.
The cabins are distributed across two of her four decks. The standard twin semi-private cabins come with bunk beds whilst standard plus twin & triple private cabins, all are located on deck E and offer porthole windows. The remaining cabins are located in the main deck and come with windows, these include the superior twin private, premier twin private, single cabins and the four suites. Public areas feature a large dining room, an open-plan observation lounge / lecture room with modern multimedia equipment, bar and a well-stocked library.
Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Antarctica Cruises into a greater Antarctic holiday.
