Located on the edge of the East Rapti River, bordering Chitwan National Park, lies Meghauli Serai. Overlooking the ripping waters, and designed to reflect the jungle surroundings and strong Nepalese culture, you’re greeted by a large Newari main door, procured from a local Tharu village, and a chandelier made from 10,000 Nepalese hand painted beads.
The villas are contemporary and warm, with pastel-hued furnishings and all modern amenities. Bathrooms come with a seductive claw-footed bathtub and large rain shower. The plunge pool and woven daybeds in the back are ideal for lounging.
There’s a selection of dining options available. Share your stories at a communal dinner or have an intimate group meal while watching the sunset and enjoying authentic Newari and Tharu cuisine.
Meghauli Serai’s location allows great opportunities for wildlife sightings. Spend your days travelling on a jeep through one of the world’s best wildlife-viewing parks looking for the endangered Greater One-horned Rhinoceros or Gharials hiding in the tall elephant grass. After a day of activities, pamper yourself with a signature spa treatment in the privacy of your own room, or cool off in the infinity pool.
Families with children are welcomed at the lodge and are given customised survival kits offering fun activities such as making a fire, pitching a tent or baking cookies.
