Kwandwe Ecca Lodge - Eastern Cape, South Africa

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is situated within the Kwande Private Game Reserve near Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. The malaria-free reserve flanks the north and south banks of the Great Fish River and is home to amazing wildlife.

This intimate lodge is made up of six spacious suites each with their own large verandah with a plunge pool, perfect for cooling off after a day in the bush. The interior design has a modern feel with hues of orange, rust and olive and contemporary sofas are mixed with old collectables from the area.

Activities revolve around nature drives in a private open safari vehicle as well as guided bush walks, bush sundowners and picnics. You can also enjoy fishing excursions, learn about rhino capture and discover the archaeological and battlefield history of surrounding Grahamstown.

As the camp is not fenced, you can expect to see game wandering through the camp during the day and night.

Location & Getting There

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is located on the Eastern Cape of South Africa in thick vegetation overlooking a dense valley.

Accommodation

Six suites, three of which are dedicated to families. The double suites can accommodate two adults each and the family suites accommodate two adults and two children (under 16 yrs on day beds in the lounge). Family suites also include a private vehicle and ranger. There are also private plunge pools and outdoor showers to enhance the connection with nature.

Activities

Game drives, bush walks, fishing, archaeological and battlefield tours.

Weather

Rainfall occurs from September to May. The temperatures of October – March are high and may reach above 36 degrees. Winter (May-August) has lovely warm days and cool evenings and mornings.
