Giraffe Manor, famous for its resident herd of Rothschild Giraffe, is a luxury boutique hotel built back in the 1930s. Modelled after a Scottish stately home for European royals and nobility to spend their summers, the ivy-clad Manor has maintained its glorious periodic charm throughout the years.
Home to other interesting characters such as warthogs, bushbuck, dik dik and more than 180 species of birds, this unique holiday retreat offers striking views of the Ngong hills and is nestled at the heart of the Kenyan bush, in the Nairobi suburb of Lang’ata. This exclusive manor is furbished with 10 en-suite luxury bedrooms, including a honeymoon master bedroom and a family suite which is also suitable for wheelchair users. The rooms are inspired by the Manor’s long history and feature large four poster beds and antique furnishings.
By the time you leave the manor, you will know each of the resident Rothchild Giraffes intimately and by name – the giraffes are known to poke their heads through the window whilst you enjoy your breakfast in the mornings, eat out of your hands and even give you endless slobbering kisses on the front terrace! Add to this enchanting experience, great organic seasonal food, all-round homey comforts of cozy spaces, non-stop bar service and a kitchen you can visit for a tête-à-tête with the chef and you’ll have the perfect luxurious getaway with an unforgettable wild life twist.
