Commonage Villas Offers

Tried & Tested

A collection of private villas in the hills right about Queenstown, Commonage is one of our go-to choices for families or larger groups of friends. Our New Zealand specialist, Mei Yun, stayed on one of her trips to New Zealand and gives this report.

Villa properties are quite unique in Queenstown, can you explain the Commonage concept?

Commonage features villa-style accommodation and is an excellent option for families who need several rooms. Each villa is owned by a different owner with its own unique design touches, but they all follow a similar layout so really blend in well together. The villas come with either a one or two-car garage which is very convenient, especially in the winter months when the villas are used for ski holidays and guests can keep their ski equipment in the garage. Rooms are spread across three floors, so guests are not all on top of each other, but it does require a bit of climbing up and down the stairs. Guests should explain to use how many rooms they need and their desired configuration so we can make sure to choose the most suitable one for them.

What if people want a little bit more of a hotel-style service?

Guests are more than welcome to contact villa management if they need help with any services such as pantry stocking, private chefs for in-villa dining, etc. There are additional charges for daily servicing and linen changing, which should be booked in advance. Whilst the property is just above Queenstown, the hill might not suit everyone and so Commonage supplies a handful of taxi vouchers which make getting in and out of the city centre even easier.

What were your three favourite things about this property?

  • The views – some of the best in Queenstown, but only for the villas located on the front row
  • The amount of space you get
  • The location – just a quick (though hilly!) walk into Queenstown or a short taxi ride
