This 7-night itinerary will take you on a journey across Botswana where you will enjoy morning and night game drives and witness a rich and diverse range of wildlife with thrilling activities including a peaceful journey on a Mokoro canoe through the channels of the Okavango Delta or a sunrise balloon ride over the plains. End your trip of a lifetime with a personal encounter with meerkats and an exhilarating Quad Bike ride in the Kalahari Desert.

Day 1: Arrival

Today you will fly from Maun to DumaTau Camp, situated in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve – north of the Okavango Delta where you will be spending the next two nights. The luxury camp overlooks a hippo-filled lagoon and offers some of the best game viewing in northern Botswana.

This afternoon you will embark on a trip along the lagoon on a barge cruise with sundowners while birdwatching. Look out for elephant herds crossing the river, with babies in tow.

Day 2: Game Drive

Enjoy an early morning game drive today, revealing the rich wildlife of the area where predators and elephants are often the highlight. The open 4×4 vehicles each accommodate a maximum of seven people, allowing each guest a ‘window’ seat.

Return to the camp in time for a scrumptious brunch followed by a peaceful afternoon siesta.

This evening, embark on a night game drive with spotlights allowing you to find those animals you wouldn’t see during the day. These include the lesser bushbaby, spring hare, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and, if you are very lucky, the elusive pangolin!

Day 3: Transfer to Vumbura Plains Camp

Today you will fly to Vumbura Plains camp and arrive just in time for brunch.

The intimate camp is situated in a private connession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve and nestled in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta. Each spacious room at the camp comprises of a bedroom, lounge, shower, plunge pool, full en-suite bathroom and comfortable ‘sala’. Enjoy the magnificent views across the spectacular Okavango Delta floodplains from your room.

This afternoon take a Mokoro canoe through the channels of the Okavango Delta. There really is no better way of viewing game and exploring the Okavango than by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). These excursions reveal the fascinating smaller creatures of the Delta including colourful frogs and lively waterbirds.

Day 4: Game Drives

This morning you will enjoy a game drive offered in an open 4×4 vehicle followed by brunch back at the camp.

Enjoy an relaxing afternoon siesta followed by an evening game drive and a bush dinner as you soak in the peace and serenity while playing spot the predator!

Day 5: Sunrise balloon flight over the Okavango Delta

Today you go on a sunrise balloon flight over the Okavango Delta – sure to be memory of a lifetime.

Following a game drive, return to the camp in time for brunch.

After tea and a relaxing siesta, head out on a game drive ending with sundowners or head back out in a mokoro and explore the delta channels.

Day 6: Depart Vumbura and fly to Kalahari Desert

This morning you will depart Vumbura Plains Camp and fly to Jacks Camp in the Kalahari Desert.

During the 60’s, while on an expedition in the Makgadikgadi Pans, Jack Bousfield discovered a site that captured his imagination and so he set up camp under an acacia with the hope that others would feel the same.

The stylish canvas tents are all equipped with en-suite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers designed in classical style and set into a palm grove creating a real oasis. Persian rugs and cool cotton sheets form a vivid contrast against the rugged wilderness backdrop from the comfort of your own verandah.

After settling in to your camp, join your guide for tea before driving on in search for some unique desert species such as the aardvark, bat eared foxes and the elusive brown hyena.

Return to camp for a lavish dinner.

Day 7: Desert drive and an encounter with Meerkats

Set off this morning on an adventure to visit some of the Kalahari’s most interesting inhabitants, the meerkats! Due to an ongoing habitutation programme, it is possible for guests to get up close and personal with these captivating creatures.

During your quality time with these social animals, you will learn how they interact with each other and their environment.

Return to the camp for a rest and refreshing lunch or an indulgent afternoon tea. After lunch, travel down to the pans where you will be given a brief safety talk before a thrilling quad bike ride. Enjoy the sun set and enjoy the stars rise.

Renowned to be one of the only places in the world where the silence is so complete you can hear the blood circulating through your ears – this is sure to be an unforgettable experience!

Day 8: Departure

This morning, you will return to Maun and reminisce about the journey of a lifetime as you embark on your return flight home.
