The Best of Both: Safari and City
Head to the Kruger National Park in South Africa for a chance to spot the big five in action. Spend two days exploring the park and relaxing in the luxurious surroundings of the Chitwa Chitwa lodge where you can dine under the stars in candlelight. Feeling rested and refreshed you will continue to Cape Town, South Africa for a tour along the coastline and a visit to some of the oldest vineyards in the region. This is a great trip for those seeking adventure and relaxation.
Day 1: Arrival


Upon arrival at Johannesburg airport you will be met by a travel representative who will assist you to the connecting fight to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport.
You will then be collected and taken to Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Reserve for lunch followed by a game drive in the later afternoon. This may well continue into the early evening in order to view the nocturnal animals as well. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Days 2 and 3: Exploring Kruger National Park


Spend two days exploring the National Park and relaxing at the lodge. The early wake up call each day will enable you to head out in good time for your morning game drive. A ranger, with expert knowledge of this animal kingdom will escort you in an open safari vehicle.
Each day, return to the lodge for breakfast, a long lunch, and spend ther rest of the day relaxing in these luxurious surroundings. In the afternoon’s you will head out to the National Park once more in search of the big five before heading back to Chitwa Chitwa for dinner.

Day 4: Heading to Cape Town


Enjoy a final trip to the National Park and breakfast at the lodge before checking out to head to the airport for a flight to Cape Town.
Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met by your driver/guide for a private transfer to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. Grootbos boasts some of the world’s most distinct and unique plant, bird and animal species. It also offers a wide variety of activities and you have free reign to decide what you would like to do. Expect 4×4 drives and walks through the fynbos and forests of the reserve, trips to the nearby coast to view the Southern Right Whales from land, walks along deserted beaches, visits to archaeological and cultural sites, boat-based whale watching trips, as well as boat tours to a nearby seal island to view penguins, seals, dolphins and great white sharks.
Spend the evening at Grootbos Garden Lodge feasting of delicious cuisine whilst you admire breath-taking views of the Atlantic.

Day 5: Shark Diving


Grootbos Lodge is set within the fynbos and forest clad hills of the Nature Reserve. Enjoy your breakfast and take in the panoramic views of whale-watcing haven, Walker Bay.
For those seeking adventure, the reserve offeres a Shark Cage Diving experience allowing you to encounter one of the most dangerous predators in the world. You will be securely protected by a cage and never more than a metre below the surface.
Fortunately there are many other activities to enjoy for those that are not enticed by shark diving! Spend the day on an exclusive Whale Watching boat trip which offers a complete experience of the marine big five; whales, dolphins, African penguins, Cape Fur Seals and the Great White Shark.
After spending the day at sea, return to the lodge for a delicious dinner. Grootbos boasts of two outstanding restaurants; expect an equisite five course dinner serving local seafood.

Day 6: The Winelands


You will be met by your driver/guide and transferred into the Cape Winelands for a tour. Get swept away by the overwhelming beauty of rolling vineyards and perfect blue sky. Start off with a visit to the spectacular Paarl Valley before heading to the Boschendal estate for a wine tasting and cellar tour. The tour continues north-west to the beautiful villages of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch is the second oldest town in South Africa and the historic heart of the country’s wine region. Here you will have the chance to see some less conventional wine making styles.
Spend the evening exploring the city of Cape Town or relax at your hotel on the waterfront: the Queen Victoria Hotel.

Day 7: Cape Town city tour


You will be met at your hotel for a private Cape Town city tour. The first stop is Table Mountain, which provides unforgettable sweeping views of city. From here, you will head to the Castle of Good Hope and pass through the Malay Quarter before reaching the Milnerton Lighthouse. From here one can see Table Mountain from the same perspective as the early settlers did when they sailed into Table Bay.
Settle into a relaxed lunch at Gold restaurant and sample some of their typical African cuisine. In the afternoon you will head to the V&A Waterfront for tour of Robben Island. This will include a visit to the infamous Maximum Security Prison!
Spend the evening relaxing in your hotel or exploring the city.

Day 8: Cape Peninsula tour


Explore the Cape Peninusla at your own pace on a private tour. Once collected from the hotel you will be taken along one of South Africa’s most scenic coastal routes towards the Cape of Good Hope. Mid-way you will stop at the Harbour House restaurant right on the waterfront of Kalk Bay to sample some of their delicious local seafood dishes.
Ascend to the top of the Cape of Good Hope by funicular and admire the stunning views out to sea. You will also have a chance to see the new lighthouse which has the most powerful electric light in the world.
Spend the remainder of the afternoon at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens nestled at the foot of Table Mountain.

Day 9: Departure
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before being transferred to Cape Town International airport for your flight home.
