Day 1 Arrival
On arrival in Brindisi Airport, your driver will take you to your hotel, the Ravezzo Beach Hotel. A small hotel, the Ravezzo Beach Hotel is the ideal place to discover the beaches and the crystal-blue sea of the area, as well as the salento landscape and architecture.

Day 2: Lecce – Gallipoli
Visit Lecce, the Baroque capital of Puglia. The heart of the city is where the Piazza S.Oronzo is located, a Roman amphitheater. Other notable structures include the Piazza Duomo and the Basilica di Santa Croce. Some of the most famous papier-machè artisans in Italy conduct workshops in the narrow alleys of the town. You will then have a private lunch in a noble palace followed by a private concert of baroque music.
Day 3: Otranto - Grotte di Zinzulusa - Santa Maria di Leuca
After breakfast, depart to discover another part of Salento. Visit Otranto, an enchanting town over the sea, with its castle and the interesting cathedral that hosts one of the biggest mosaicos in the world.
Lunch in a restaurant in Otranto will be followed by a visit to Santa Maria di Leuca to see the edge of Puglia – the heel of the Italian boot.
Day 4: Transfer to Ostuni/Alberobello
After breakfast, check-out and transfer to your second base of the journey, the central area of Puglia. Stop in a Masseria and enjoy a cooking class with a local mamma. In Puglia, you will be staying at The Borgo Egnazia, which is located near the archaeological site of Egnazia is a point of reference in the field of luxury facilities.
Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. Suggested activities are relaxing by the beach or at the spa, or having a special dinner in Savelletri.

Day 5: Alberobello – Ostuni
After breakfast, head to Alberobello, where you will have a guided tour of the enchanting town of Alberobello, famed for its trulli, a traditional Apulian dry stone hut with a conical roof. These charming abodes have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Later on, visit Ostuni, the Medieval “White Town”, whose narrow whitewashed alleys guide the visitors to the majestic Cathedral in late Romanic and Gothic style.
Day 6: Day at leisure
Today, you are free to do as you please. Should you wish, Lightfoot Travel can organize activities such as a farm visit followed by a cooking class with wine tasting, a private visit of an underground oil mill, a quad ride amongst olive trees or a ride in a vintage car with a picnic in an ancient masseria.
Day 7: Bari and Trani
After breakfast, transfer to Bari, and visit the enchanting capital of Puglia. Admire the promenade facing the sea, the Basilica of Saint Nicholas and the Swabian castel, together with the historic center, where you can still see ladies making orecchiette (the local handmade pasta).
Afterwards, head over to Trani, a nice town with an enchanting cathedral over the sea, dedicated to San Nicola Pellegrino (Saint Nicholas the Pilgrim), and an example of Apulian Romanesque architecture which combines styles from different periods and cultures.
Day 8: Matera
After breakfast, depart for Matera. Guided visit of the “sassi”, a typical peasant dwelling, carved out from the rock, and the cave churches with Byzantine frescoes. Stay the night at Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita. The hotel is made of 18 caves spread out on three levels, overlooking the Murgia Natural Park and offering a breathtaking view.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
