Downton Abbey Experience

England is a wonderful mix of old traditions and modern culture, making for a wonderfully diverse holiday. Home to the most famed and beloved Royal Family, it comes to no surprise that the Royals’ lifestyle and elegance is much sought after. Whilst on our Downton Abbey Experience, you will get a taste of what it’s like to live like a monarch. Whether it’s shopping in some of the country’s most exclusive boutiques or living the castle life, this itinerary will leave you feeling like royalty.

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival, you will be collected from the airport by a fleet of chauffer driven Rolls-Royce Phantoms, and will be transferred to your hotel, Claridge’s. A professional photographer will also be present and escort you during the entirety of the trip.

You will have the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the surroundings or just relax.

In the evening, you will enjoy cocktails and champagne in the hotel followed by dinner in a restaurant.

Day 2: Exploring London

Today you will have your breakfast at the Foyer, Claridge’s following which you will visit some of London’s best art and furniture retailers. Ladies will be taken to some of London’s finest jewellery shops in the Burlington Arcade, while gentlemen will be taken to the JJ Fox Cigar Merchant on St James’s.

At noon, the men will join the Ladies at the Burlington Arcade and look at some of London’s finest watch shops. Then you will enjoy drinks and canapés at one of London’s most exclusive private clubs, 5 Hertford Street.

Later in the day, you will be transferred to William & Son, Mayfair for an exclusive shopping experience with the shop’s director, while the gentlemen will be given exclusive access to Huntsman Tailors, at the forefront of Gentleman’s tailoring and a firm favourite among British Royalty. It also played a large part in creating costumes for Downton Abbey.

After this shopping experience, you will make your way to Holland & Holland’s flagship store, well known worldwide for its handmade guns and traditional British garments. The store will be closed exclusively for you, and cocktails, champagne and canapés will be served while browse through the shop.

Dinner will be served with some of the world’s finest wines and a selection of rare Dalmore whiskies in the Brevis room, Holland & Holland’s private dining room.

Afterwards, you will have an option to go back to the hotel or to go to one of London’s finest clubs, bars, nightclubs or casinos.

Day 3: Admiring Cornbury Park

Today you will be transferred to Cornbury Park, the home of Lord and Lady Rotherwick, built in the latter part of the 16th century and which was used by King Charles 1 as a hunting estate. The 1,700 acre estate boasts one of the finest Deer Parks in England and the oldest forest in the United Kingdom. The estate offers fantastic deer stalking within the parkland for a variety of species.

Upon arrival at Cornbury Park, you will be welcomed by Lady Rotherwick and Wine Master Clive Barlow and will be seated for an elegant lunch with your hostess, followed by an exclusive tour of the stunning estate and grounds.

After some down time in your room, you will have lunch with Lady Rotherwick. Then, she will give you an exclusive tour of the stunning estate and grounds.

In the afternoon, you will experience authentic English afternoon tea, continues by canapés, cocktails and champagne.

The feast is not over yet, as you will have an exquisite four-course dinner, followed by cigars and Porto.

Day 4: A day full of activities

Start off you day with a hearty breakfast served on the terrace overlooking the stunning grounds of Cornbury Park before partaking in deerstalking.

Lunch will be served at the estate in the presence of Lady Rotherwick and in the afternoon, after a little down time, learn the art of croquet on the main lawn, as well as horse riding on the estate.

Day 5: From Cornbury Park to Eastnor Castle

Today you will have a farewell breakfast with Lady Rotherwick before continuing your journey to Eastnor Castle, founded by John Cocks , 1st earl of Somers in the late 16th century, and to this day still inhabited by his descendants.

Take a guided tour of the castle, during which time you will learn more about the art, history and traditions of the estate.

Your evening will start off with tasty cocktails on the lawn, and lovely dinner with the hosts afterwards.

Day 6: Tour around the castle

Enjoy a tour of the beautiful gardens as well as some fishing by the lake before lunch.

In the afternoon, you will be given the opportunity to have a private Land Rover adventure around the estate, which boasts some challenging obstacles.

After tea time you will have the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the surroundings or just relax, before cocktails and dinner.

Day 7: Departure

Today, you will be transferred back to the airport to catch your return flight home.
