1 – COMO Uma Canggu


If you love to hit the surf, but want to go home to a plush bed rather than a hammock, book into the new COMO Uma Canggu. This sleek retreat, which comes with its own surf school is set to launch this spring. The suites will come with floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning ocean views, the beach club will serve COMO’s famed healthy cuisine and there will also be a Shambhala spa for when you need to stretch out all those achy muscles.

2 – Shinta Mani Wild


If Bill Bensley had got into glamping earlier, we would have all been in the scouts. The renowned hotel designer is about to launch Shinta Mani Wild between two national parks in Cambodia. The setting for the 16 suite retreat is a waterfall-filled oasis between Bokor and Kiriom National Park. Guests can relax in their luxury tent that overlooks the river, choose a treatment at the organic spa or enjoy dishes created from locally-grown produce at the Waterfall Restaurant. It’s sure to be one of the top glamping experiences.

3 – Kudadoo


When you really want to push the boat out you need to head to the new Kudadoo Maldives private island by Hurawalhi resort. Set on a private island surrounded by a beautiful lagoon each of the 15 villas come with a butler, private infinity pool and unobstructed views of the Maldivian ocean. You can dine at the restaurant, order from the wine cellar and book a treatment at the spa. You can also use the facilities of nearby Hurawalhi island. But tsk tsk, they can’t use yours.

4 – Four Seasons Megeve


Four Seasons is launching its first alpine resort in Europe for the 2018 season. Four Seasons Megeve features a chocolate-box pretty hotel and a selection of chalets. This means that you get the first-class service that you know and love, but you can choose the setting that suits you. Need to be closer to the pool and the two-star Michelin restaurant? Book into the hotel. Want to have the place to yourself? Then snap up a chalet. Of course, it’s the only hotel in town with a ski concierge and ski valet. The concierge makes sure that your skis are waxed and boots warmed each morning, and the valet carries your equipment to the slopes. Ooh la la!

5 – Awasi Igazu


Looking for adventure, but love a little luxury too? Then book into Argentina’s first tailor-made luxury lodge – Awasi Igazu, which is just 15 minutes away from the Igazu Falls. Found on the banks of the River Igazu, each of the 14 villas will be assigned a private guide and 4WD, giving you the chance to explore the jungle at your leisure. In the evening you can take a sunset boat ride along the river, enjoy a dip in your own private plunge pool or relax with a drink after dinner at the bar.

6 – One&Only Gorilla's Nest


For a bucket list experience the new One&Only Gorilla’s Nest in Rwanda is hard to beat. Not only will you have the chance to stay in possibly one of the most luxurious resorts around, but you’ll have a band of mountain gorillas as your neighbours. Spend the day tracking the gorillas with a guides, and spend the night dining on gourmet food or enjoying a massage at the One&Only spa. 7 – Mandarin Oriental Qianmen


Looking for a luxe hotel that’s a little different? Then check into the new Mandarin Oriental Qianmen in Beijing this year. Tucked away in a traditional hutong near Tiananmen Square, the boutique resort comprises an array of antique houses that surround a tranquil courtyard. Behind one of these picturesque doors you’ll find a glamorous tea house, spa and indoor swimming pool. Bliss.

8 – Six Senses Fiji


What could possibly make Fiji more of an attractive proposition? Well, what about the fact it is about to see the launch of its own Six Senses resort? Six Senses Fiji on Malolo island will now be home to 26 bures with private pools, two restaurants creating dishes from locally grown ingredients and the Six Senses Wellness Village, which will sport the famed Six Senses spa, a treetop yoga platform and tennis court.

9 – The Chedi Luštica Bay
