Victoria was born and raised in a Namibian national park to a career conservationist father and artist mother. She had the privilege of spending her childhood surrounded by individuals devoted to conservation and free to explore the bushveld and desert. Some of her favourite childhood memories include exploring the desolate skeleton coastline of Namibia, sleeping out under the stars in the Namib desert and walking in the veld with her father teaching her how to identify and recognise the signs wild animals leave behind.
After leaving school Victoria started what was to become a 14-year career working in some of the most remote and luxurious properties around Southern Africa and the Seychelles. She also worked in Cape Town, South Africa for a luxury eco-tourism company that specialises in running lodges in Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya and Rwanda.
Working for Lightfoot Travel as a Travel Designer and looking after its African sales, Victoria is excited to build and design journeys for travellers that will ultimately leave them with wonderful lasting memories and yearning to return to Africa, time and time again.
- Hotel: Serra Cafema Lodge in Namibia - This is about as remote as you can get anywhere in Southern Africa. The lodge is situated in the remote kaokoveld of Namibia, surrounded by ancient desert landscape including the oldest sand dunes in the world. Guests here also have the opportunity to meet some of the last truly semi-nomadic people in Africa - the Himba people.
- Restaurant: Babel Restaurant, Cape Winelands - South Africa. All their cuisine is freshly prepared “farm-to-fork” and all 100% guided by what is freshest and in season. Delicious, simple, and slightly unconventional!
- Memory: Otter Trail Hike, Cape Garden route, South Africa - For five glorious days you walk uninterrupted, disconnected from technology and the rest of the world, in a small group. You get the chance to spot the rare Cape Clawless Otter, catch a glimpse of shy small antelope, marvel at the rock formations, waterfalls and wild flowers, and cross rivers and streams.
