Luke’s love of travel began after a month-long trip to Belize and Guatemala, aged 18, which gave him a thirst for exploring new countries and experiencing different cultures, people and landscapes. He subsequently spent five months travelling around the US and Canada, and six months touring Africa and South America, as well as a whole year discovering all that Australia has to offer.
His innate passion for exploration unsurprisingly led to Luke’s career in the travel industry, working for a luxury tour operator in the UK, before making the move to Dubai to join Lightfoot Travel. Six years of designing trips for clients across the globe has given him an extensive knowledge of the world’s most remarkable countries, and today he prides himself on putting together some of the most exciting and unusual itineraries available for his clients.
If you want to try gorilla trekking in Uganda, swimming with Great White Sharks in South Africa, walking with Rhinos in Swaziland, riding the Orient Express train between Venice and London, or cruising around the Galapagos Islands, Luke is your man!
Luke 's Picks
- Memory: Raja Ampat, Indonesia - It’s one of the world’s best diving sites with a staggering diversity of marine wildlife, and the opportunity to see whale sharks and manta rays.
- Country: South Africa - Cape Town is one of my favourite cities in the world with a whole host of activities to suit any taste. Head there for its fascinating history, great wildlife, beautiful landscapes and amazing food.
- Travel Tip: Embrace the country you’re visiting - Try the local dishes no matter how exotic they appear, and learn to say a couple of words in the local language. It’s amazing how far you can get with a simple “hello” and a smile.
