Kieran is the third generation in his family to be born and raised in Hong Kong. While growing up he’d visit nearby countries such as Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia which helped him to feel comfortable amongst different Asian cultures, and at home while travelling throughout the region.
After graduation he worked in the UK and Hong Kong before taking time off to explore South America. A stint in Whistler as a ski instructor followed, along with the knowledge that he was destined for a career in the travel industry.
Kieran’s passion for Asia has never waned, and today he is fascinated by the contrast of the fast-passed cities like Bangkok and Beijing against the tranquil beat of Luang Prabang, Bagan and Borobudur. Travel has also turned him into an adrenaline junkie and he thrives in places where he can try new and unexpected things. Helicoptering in Iceland, road tripping through Macedonia, and paragliding in Oman to name a few.
Kieran 's Picks
- Restaurant: La Cabrera in Palermo, Buenos Aires - Best steak ever. Enough said!
- Beach: Playa Blanca, Colombia - This remote beach is still very much untouched by civilisation, with only beach huts and hammocks and people eating dinner by candlelight. My days were spent swimming in the beautiful turquoise Caribbean Sea and enjoying fresh fruit and ceviche prepared right on the beach.
- Memory: Pampas tour through the Amazon - Where else in the world can you swim with dolphins just around the corner from where you’ve been fishing for piranhas and searching for anacondas and crocodiles?
