"Built by Scottish planters in 1884, this is a family heritage holiday home located in Nuwara Eliya offering guests the opportunity to share the experience of living within a working tea plantation. The property offers a range of activities for all ages; we recommend enjoying a locally grown cup of fresh tea with freshly made scones in the garden, and exploring the fascinating local area by bike."
Stafford Bungalow is nestled on a 50-acre working tea plantation overlooking the mountains, near the hill station of Nuwara Eliya. Built by Scottish planters in 1884 and restored in 2013, there’s plenty of space and two large verandas with views of the verdant landscape.
The four spacious bedrooms home up to ten people and feature a clean, classic design, with cool white walls and dark antique furniture.
An in-house chef prepares all meals including traditional high tea which can be enjoyed in the dining pavilion. A butler is on hand to attend to your every need.
There’s also an elegant library decorated with local artworks and a tennis court. Go for a stroll or cycle around the estate, visit a nearby tea factory or sample homemade scones in front of the fireplace. You can also visit Nuwara Eliya, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Horton Plains. Boating on Lake Gregory is a must.
