“This estancia may be an effort to reach, but once you’ve arrived you’ll be immersed within wildlife and the wetlands and treated to a wonderfully authentic experience. The lodge runs a programme of activities including horse-riding, walking, and night safaris, and there’s a nice outdoor swimming pool and reading room in which to unwind.”
The Rincón del Socorro is a former cattle ranch on the edge of the Ibera Wetlands that’s been transformed into an eco-estancia. Set in a 30,000-acre private reserve accessible by light aircraft or jeep, this comfortable lodge is a little off the beaten track but offers a unique wildlife experience.
The main building has been tastefully renovated in traditional style with six simple yet stylish rooms in the main building and three separate bungalows, each with private bathroom. The onsite restaurant serves free-range meat and home-grown organic fruits and vegetables, complemented with a regional wine list. There’s also a rustic outdoor barbeque area for traditional asados.
The lodge runs a programme of activities including horse-riding, walking, and night safaris accompanied by knowledgeable guides, with a focus on discovering local flora and fauna including caiman, anteaters, capybaras and over 350 bird species.
Guests can unwind by the outdoor swimming pool, browse the onsite library and relax in the reading room.
