“The Resort at Raven’s Nest feels authentic and homely, and the attention to detail is impressive. Built from handcrafted stones and wood from the high Himalayas and local mud, there’s an earthy, rugged feel that’s complemented by curtains, furnishing, bed linens and rugs from India. For the best views, go for the Executive suite, The Perch, on the top floor of the main building which has 180-degree views.”

The Resort at Raven’s Nest sits in a rural area outside of Paro. Surrounded by tropical gardens, this resort offers an ideal base for exploring the valley and visiting Bhutan’s most famous monastery.
There are 21 guestrooms and suites in a number of different categories, each with a balcony or terrace overlooking the valley and monastery. The rooms are simple and minimalist, with Indian soft furnishings and spacious en suites with a separate shower and bathtub and underfloor heating.
The restaurant serves Bhutanese, Chinese and Indian cuisine along with some continental dishes. Meals are home-cooked using local, organic produce.
Trekking to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery is the highlight of a stay at Raven’s Nest, but there are plenty of opportunities for exploring the monasteries, museums, and markets of nearby Paro. The onsite spa is ideal for easing weary limbs after hiking.
