Complimentary bottle of wine
Set in a remote location in the eastern Himalayas, the Gangtey Lodge offers an escape from the modern world and immersion in Bhutanese nature and culture. Built in traditional farmhouse style, this modern lodge has sweeping views of the Gangtey (Phobjikha) valley and monastery.
The 12 spacious suites reflect the country’s cultural heritage with warm fabrics, earthy tones and local handicrafts. Wood-burning stoves and under-floor heating keep them cosy, while the freestanding baths capture the best of the views.
Meals are held around a long community table, and feature Bhutanese, Asian and Western dishes, made from locally sourced produce.
There are a number of complimentary activities, such as mountain biking, meditation, archery and darts. In addition, guests can explore the Gangtey Goemba and participate in a number of spiritual activities, enjoy a cultural visit to a traditional farmhouse, and learn about the region’s rare black-necked crane.
After an adventurous day, bathe in a hot stone bath and enjoy an in-room spa treatment.
