“This is a small but perfectly formed escape surrounded by olive trees, lemon groves and vineyards. Utterly charming, it has been respectfully renovated keeping the fireplaces, windows and Byzantine arches intact. The rooms are a lovely mix of old and new with a slightly medieval ambience, and we especially like the facilities that include swimming pools, Turkish Baths and whirlpool tubs to keep both parents and children cool in the unforgiving Mediterranean heat.”
At the heart of an ancient Byzantine estate, the Kinsterna Hotel stands amongst 22 acres of sloping vineyards, olive groves and citrus trees. Only 7km southwest of historic rock-city Monemvasia, it boasts hillside views of the sparkling Aegean.
With 27 rooms, including 19 suites, the manor’s guests can delight in an amalgamation of old and new as modern comforts complement preserved Turkish features. The individual residences and two villas have a more contemporary feel.

A working estate with active olive press, vineyards, bakery and textiles, the Kinsterna provides guests with the chance to participate in production. A visit to fairy tale Monemvasia is perfectly concluded poolside or at the hotel’s renowned spa.
