“Set within its own private 1,000-acre reserve in the Osa Peninsula, Lapa Rios is one of Costa Rica's most exclusive jungle eco-lodges and a paradise for wildlife. A stay here includes a wonderful selection of wildlife excursions led by expert guides. Active guests can rise early to spot some of the reserve’s prolific and diverse birdlife, enjoy a guided hike or try surfing. Those seeking a more relaxed stay can look out for scarlet macaws or monkeys whilst witnessing the views of the Pacific Ocean.”
This luxury boutique resort is set on a 1000-acre private nature reserve overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Golfo Dulce, in Costa Rica’s wild Osa Peninsula. A nature-lovers paradise, it’s home to an array of wildlife including monkeys, macaws, sloths and tree frogs.
Lapa Rios provides 16 luxurious thatched-roof bungalows nestled in the rainforest. The open-air bungalows feature handmade bamboo and teak furniture, king-size beds with mosquito nets, ceiling fans, two indoor showers and private decks with outdoor showers overlooking the ocean or gulf. There are no televisions so you can completely escape the outside world.
Food is a highlight and the open-air restaurant serves up an innovative menu of cuisine, prepared using fresh, locally sourced produce.
Two excursions are included in your stay. Hike to waterfalls, go bird watching or visit a local school. Surfing, boat trips, horse riding and scenic flights can also be arranged.
After a busy day, laze by the pool, take a yoga or Chi Kung class, or indulge in an Ayurvedic massage.
