“The historic French colonial interiors mixed with art deco features give this hotel a wonderful character and feel, not to mention the stunning location on the river. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace with views stretching across the water, but for a blow-out treat book The Resident Suite which occupies the top floor of the original governor’s mansion and boasts a rooftop terrace with a 360-degree vista.”
This charming boutique hotel on the banks of the Perfume River overlooks the former Imperial Citadel. Built in 1930 as the French Governor’s official residence, the property has been converted into a stunning hotel, preserving its art-deco character and atmosphere of a classic colonial villa.
The 122 rooms and suites capture the atmosphere of a bygone era with dark wood furniture, Vietnamese silk and classic art-deco features. All rooms have a balcony or terrace and most have views across the river. The best rooms are in the main building, while The Resident Suite, which occupies the top floor of the original governor’s mansion, features a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views. Connecting rooms are available.
The Residence’s restaurant Le Parfum serves Asian, Vietnamese and European cuisine. A poolside barbecue, picnic lunch at Thien An Hill or a dinner cruise down the Huong River can also be arranged.
After a busy day, relax by the riverside salt water pool or experience a Vietnamese cupping massage in the spa.
