Shinta Mani Wild - Cambodia
Less of a hotel, more world of its own, US architect Bill Bensley brings a magic touch to Shinta Mani Wild in Cambodia in the shape of exceptional accommodation. This game-changing luxury lodge is built along a river valley in the Cambodian rainforest and a stay here really makes you feel like you're at the forefront of conservation. The lodges are of course, incredible. Flamboyant animal-print sofas, cowhide-covered coolers, crystal wine glasses and cocktail making kits await.
Unique, wild and free, Shinta Mani Wild, Cambodia is the brainchild of hotel design guru and resort owner Bill Bensley. Located at the meeting point of three Cambodian parks – the Kirirom, Bokor and Cardamom – the 15 custom-designed tents are dotted along a 1.5-kilometre stretch of river and waterfalls.
Perched above free-flowing waters, the luxurious tents are decorated with plush furnishings and Khmer objets d’art, evoking the sensation of a luxury safari deep in the Cambodian jungle. Bensley also designed fully equipped expedition boats, giving adventurous guests the opportunity to travel the waterways with experienced local guides in search of wildlife.
Back at Shinta Mani, the Waterfall Restaurant serves contemporary Khmer cuisine with ingredients sourced from the surrounding forest, while the Landing Zone Bar is a great spot to swap stories with fellow guests.
Boulders Spa provides relaxation and rejuvenation amid the rainforest, with traditional Khmer treatments carried out using natural, chemical-free products.
