“The rugged and scenic beauty at Ruckomechi Camp, on the banks of the Zambezi, is outstanding. Shaded by a large grove of acacia and mahogany trees, the property boasts views of the mountains of Africa’s Great Rift Valley across the river in Zambia. The wildlife sightings from this spot are also impressive; lion and leopards are very likely. After a day out we highly recommend the Ruckomechi ‘bath with a view’.”
Located on the banks of the Zambezi River, Ruckomechi Camp stands within its own private concession in the Mana Pools National Park. Owned and run by Wilderness Safaris, this luxury tented camp offers impeccable service, superb wildlife viewing and exceptional guiding.
There are ten stylish tents, including two family tents and a honeymoon suite. Each tent has a wooden floor and contemporary furnishings made from local materials, an en suite with solar-powered hot shower, and large veranda overlooking the river.
At the heart of the camp, there’s a dining area serving home-cooked meals accompanied by South African wines. There’s a lounge and library, large deck, and plunge pool.
The quality of the guiding is exceptional, with day and night game drives, birdwatching, and guided bush walks on offer. At the end of the day, relax in a starlit bath, gather around the campfire, or enjoy a sleep-out in the romantic star bed.
