Day 1 Arrival Okavango Delta
On arrival at Maun Airport, you’ll be met by a representative who’ll assist you with the arrangements of your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Jao Camp in the Okavango Delta.
Upon arrival you’ll check in, familiarise yourself with your surroundings, and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 Okavango Delta
This morning you’ll experience your first nature drive either via mokoro (wooden canoes) or 4×4. The Jao concession boasts vast open floodplains which provide some exceptional scenery.
In the afternoon unwind while looking out over the plains for wildlife passing by from your private sala.
Day 3 Okavango Delta
Continue to explore the Okavango Delta. Mokoro, boat trips, fishing, day and night game drives and birding are usually on offer all year round.
In the afternoon, head out with your guide to one of the two hides with a cool box and wait and see what comes to the water hole. Enjoy your last evening in the outdoor boma eating under the stars by a fire.
Day 4 Okavango Delta - Savuti Channel
This morning you’ll transfer from Jao Camp to the airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to Zarafa Camp which overlooks the Zibidianja lagoon.
After settling in you’ll enjoy a guided bush walk to take a closer look and learn about the surrounding wildlife.
Day 5 Savuti Channel
Enjoy a full day out from Zarafa Camp to explore the Savuti Channel.
You’ll stop for a bush picnic lunch under a canopy of trees and enjoy an afternoon relaxing in the shade.
Afterwards, head back to camp watching out for the wildlife waking up from the heat of the day.
Day 7 Savuti Channel - Johannesburg
Today you’ll be transferred from Zarafa Camp to the airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to Maun Airport.
Upon arrival you’ll be met by a representative who’ll assist you with catching your connecting flight to Johannesburg for an overnight stay.
Day 8 Johannesburg – Vilanculos – Bazaruto Archipelago
This morning you’ll make your own way to the terminal for your flight to Vilanculos.
When you arrive in Mozambique you’ll be greeted by a representative and transferred to the helicopter pad for your flight to Benguerra Lodge.
The remainder of the day will be spent at your leisure.
Day 9 Bazaruto Archipelago
Now’s the time to kick back and enjoy some lazy beach days in the Bazaruto archipelago.
This is your chance to go diving and snorkelling in some of the most pristine reefs in the world, horse ride along the beach, go on a catamaran cruise or romantic castaway picnic. Your Lightfoot Travel Designer can recommend further activities prior to departure.
Day 11 Bazaruto Archipelago
This morning you’ll head out to explore the famous unspoilt Mozambique reefs with your snorkel. Afterwards, head to the deserted Pansy Island and enjoy the beach and crystal waters.
You’ll return to the hotel to freshen up before going on a Land Rover trip to explore the island. We’ll take you to a secret spot for a drink, best enjoyed while watching a famous African sunset.
Day 13 Departure
Today you’ll be helicoptered back to Vilanculos for your international flight to Johannesburg for your onward journey.
