“Despite fascinating wildlife and intriguing landscapes, Ruaha sees few visitors compared to Tanzania’s northern parks, so a stay here feels special from the start. The obvious stand-out of this property is the unique design. Standing high on a rocky outcrop, granite boulders are integral to the lodge and the communal areas are accessed by wooden walkways. The lounge, bar and restaurant, which are raised on stilts, are cool, calming, and offer expansive views.”
Set atop a rocky kopje in Ruaha National Park, Jabali Ridge has commanding views over sweeping savannah dotted with spiky palms and bulbous baobab trees. Asilia Africa's luxury escape offers a sophisticated base to explore this wilderness, home to 10% of the world’s lions as well as Tanzania’s largest elephant population.
There are eight elegant guest suites constructed from wood, stone and other natural materials. Louvered shutters blur the boundary between inside and out, allowing a perfect view from your king-size bed. The en suites have hot rainshowers and flushing toilets, and each tent has a private veranda.
All meals are homemade, from bush breakfast picnics to light buffet lunches and three-course dinners served under the stars. The infinity pool provides respite on warm afternoons, and there’s a spa with a focus on rejuvenation after a day’s adventuring.
Safari activities at the camp include day and night nature drives and walking safaris.
