Situated in the heart of southern Damaraland, between Namibia’s Ugab and the Huab rivers, Mowani Mountain commands a stunning location. Perched on a rocky outcrop, it’s nestled between large granite boulders and has amazing views across the gravel plains to the mountains and beyond.
The eco-property blends award-winning architecture and an innovative design with the spectacular natural surroundings. Fifteen spacious and elegant dome-shaped bungalows are built on stilts from thatch, wood and stone, and each room is dotted among the boulders offering maximum privacy.
Mowani’s main dining and lounge area are housed under two large adjoining thatched rondavels, and are relaxed and stylishly appointed. Just below is a small pool and a deck area.
Experience a game drive along ancient dry riverbeds, visit Twyfelfontein, see the wonders of the Organ Pipes or set out on an elephant and dune drive. Later in the day sip a G&T atop a boulder as you watch the sunset.
