Location & Getting There
Saruni Wild sits in the heart of the plains in the Mara North Conservancy. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi is just under 6 hours by car. Safarilink, Air Kenya, and Mombasa Air offer daily flights from Nairobi to nearby Mara North airstrip, around a 15 minute drive.
Three tents hold up to eight guests in breezy canvas abodes comfortably furnished with all the necessary luxuries of a wild yet classic safari. There are two single luxury tents and a double family tent, the latter of which features two bathrooms and two bedrooms facing the Mara plains. Both single tents include sumptuous king-size beds and all three offer hot water showers, outdoor terraces, handwoven rugs, and flushing loos. Experience total comfort in the rugged heart of the wild – an unexpected but fantastically wonderful experience.
One of the most remarkable experiences at Saruni Wild is going on safari guided by Maasai warriors, who eagerly share their ancient customs and local knowledge of this wild land. These proud custodians of the wilderness are not only professionally qualified, but have called this area home for centuries, giving them a unique expertise that will entertain, astound, and educate you, with every outing.The area around Saruni Wild has the highest density of predators and plains game of any wilderness in the world. At nearby Saruni Mara there are a number of activities including the Maasai Wellbeing Space for a relaxing massage, visits to the Olchorro rhino sanctuary, village market trips, sundowners, and stargazing. Take a scenic flight on a hot air balloon. And don’t miss the Warriors Academy where guests learn the survival skills of the revered Maasai. Near and far, there’s always something exciting taking place.
Children are welcome at Saruni Wild, especially over the age of 8-10 years.
