Sable Alley, Okavango Delta, Botswana
Overlooking a beautiful lily-covered lagoon within a large private concession area to the northeast of the Okavango Delta lies Sable Alley. The camp is set along the water frontage area of Botswana's Khwai River, with vast tracts of mopane woodland behind. The diversity of the surrounding landscapes means both a full variety of wildlife, as well as a wide range of land and water-based activities.
For a true escape from modern day living, Sable Alley is the ideal destination. Overlooking a lagoon that’s connected to the Khwai and Sable Alley rivers, it’s situated in the Khwai Private Reserve, which borders Botswana’s famous Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta.
With views over the lily-covered waterway and Moremi, this homely stay transports you into the deep heart of nature. Long sandy pathways lead to 12 tented chalets which feel like your own secluded hideaway. The spacious timbre-framed structures are elevated onto raised decks, and come with en suite bathrooms, private verandas, and indoor and outdoor showers.
The swimming pool, lounge and outdoor seating areas feature uninterrupted views of the resident pod where around 30 hippos and herds of elephant and buffalo come to drink. All you have to do is pull up a camp chair and relax as you watch the animals roam in their natural habitat.
