Zarafa Camp, Chobe National Park, Botswana
Botswana’s first Relais & Chateaux property, the ultra-luxury Zarafa Camp is located in an exclusive wilderness area in northern Botswana, overlooking the Zibidianja Lagoon, and links the Okavango Delta with the Chobe & Savute corridors. Along with expert safari guiding and land and water-based activities, during the May and October dry season the area is particularly famous for herds of buffalo and elephant numbering into the hundreds.
Zarafa Camp gives you authenticity and luxury all in one. Located in the 320,000 acre private Selinda Reserve, Zarafa camp is known for its intimate wildlife experiences and dramatic landscapes. Its prime location, on Botswana’s Zibidianja Lagoon, makes this luxury camp a ‘private Africa’.
Zafara Camp’s four spacious tented suites are raised on wooden decking and rim the shores of the floodplains, offering uninterrupted views of its spectacular surroundings. Each canvas tent, situated far away from the other, comes with its own comfortable lounge, private pool, copper bath as well as an indoor and outdoor shower. A professional camera and accompanying lenses are provided for complimentary use.
Explore the Selinda Reserve by foot or on a 4×4 open game drive vehicle or whilst brunching on a pontoon boat – here, it's possible to see a diverse range of species from resident prides of lion to huge herds of elephant and packs of wild dog. The nocturnal wildlife in the reserve is prolific as well, and there are frequent sightings of civet and aardwolf.
