The Country: Vietnam
The Dish: Banh cuon nong. I love this dish as they make it right in from of me. It’s made with pork, mushroom and noodles and cooked in the steamer. They serve it with warm fish sauce. I always come to Hanoi to try this dish. I can’t seem to find the same dish anywhere else in the world.
The Country: Japan
The Dish: I would go there of course for sashimi. I love the uni (sea urchin). I wake up very early at 6.30am and would go to the fish market in Tokyo and eat seafood for breakfast.
The Country: Spain
The Dish: I love to travel to Barcelona for the tapas. It’s the best tapas in the world. It’s part of our culture in Vietnam to eat on the street and it’s part of their culture to enjoy great sherry with tapas.
The Country: France
The Dish: For their incredible escargot.
The Country: Italy
The Dish: I would love to go to Italy for their tomatoes – this is what a real tomato should taste like. They are the best tomatoes in the world. Buy an Italian tomato, cut it up, add a little bit of olive oil and you have perfection.
