Is this far enough away for you?
Wolwedens Boulders Camp
Giant boulders form the backdrop to this wilderness camp set in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. While the resort features just five tents, those glamping chic hideaways come complete with an ensuite, private plunge pool and veranda. Go on walking safaris and horseback rides and enjoy sundowners at the top of a rocky plateau as ostrich, oryx and zebras stroll by.
Hidden away on an island in the middle of the Okavango Delta is Mapula Lodge. You don’t need to go far to see the wildlife – there will be a steady stream that wanders past the lodge. Relax in the knowledge that your suite comes with a lounge, a four-poster bed and an ensuite and the fact that it was created by the same people who own Jack’s Camp (yes, really).
Block out April 2019 in your diary for this is when Nyamatusi Camp opens. Set on the edge of Mana Pools National Park, this eco-friendly hideaway features solar-powered suites that come with ensuites, plunge pools and mini bars. Enjoy walking safaris, canoeing trips and then take a 90-minute flight to the famed Victoria Falls.
One&Only Nyungwe Lodge
High in the tea plantations and nestled next to an ancient rainforest, you’ll find the One&Only Nyungwe Lodge. Enjoy wilderness picnics, go chimpanzee tracking, hillside trekking and enjoy picnics in the wilderness of Rwanda. Opens October 2018.
From desert dwelling elephants to the remnants of shipwrecks, the Skeleton Coast holds many surprises. You will be able to discover them yourself when you book into Shipwreck Lodge. Take a seat on the restaurant’s terrace and enjoy uninterrupted views all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
