Coming out of its summer season, Europe is still very enjoyable in September as the crowds have thinned and the weather is still warm and pleasant. The northern parts of South America are ideal at this time of year, as is the lovely island nation of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Much of China is beautiful in September and Lightfoot particularly recommends paying a visit to the mountainous Guilin and Yangshuo in Guangxi Province.
