This luxury boutique resort is located on Vamizi Island, which lies in a marine conservation area just off the coast of northern Mozambique in the Quirimbas Archipelago, an area made up of 32 coral islands stretching for 100 kilometres along the coast. The island is surrounded by powder white sand beaches and crystal clear, turquoise water, abundant with marine life and unbleached, untouched coral reefs. This luxury boutique resort has six spacious and sumptuous beach villas individually decorated with a mix of local traditions and modern comforts. Each villa has been designed to blend in with the natural surroundings and features en-suite bedrooms, spectacular drawing and dining rooms, and peaceful lounging spaces around private pools or the beach. Villas are staffed with their own hospitality team including a private chef, butler and 4WD with a driver.

&Beyond Vamizi Island is not about the ordinary five-star stuff, so don’t expect TVs or air conditioning – it’s all about barefoot relaxation with rooms as open as they can be, to catch the natural breezes.

There is a multitude of activities on offer and you can choose to do as much or as little as you wish. The diving and snorkelling is unrivalled and you can also try deep-sea fishing and ethical spearfishing, go on a romantic sunset cruise in a dhow or enjoy a lavish picnic on a deserted island. Location & Getting There

Located on the remote Vamizi Island, the resort is accessible only by private charter. Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Pemba (Mozambique) are the most convenient destinations from which guests can take a flight onto the island and require a 105-minute flight and 50-minute flight respectively, followed by a 35-minute drive to the resort.

Accommodation

The resort is comprised of 6 villas (with either 5 or 6-bedrooms) accommodating up to 8 adults and up to 8 children. Villas are situated by the shoreline with spectacular ocean views. Kipila is a 5-bedroom villa that features a spacious lounge, dining room, games room, swimming pool and a tower with panoramic views of the surrounding ocean; the 5-bedroom Suluwilo boasts a unique Arabian-themed sunken courtyard together with a beach gazebo; the 5-bedroom Casa Marjani has its own private pocket beach and outdoor courtyard complete with swinging chairs and hammocks; the Casamina is a 6-bedroom villa with a split-level living, dining area and bar. All villas are staffed with a private chef, hospitality team, a 4WD car with driver and an array of sailing boats and kayaks.

Activities

The brilliantly clear waters on Vamizi Island provide world-class diving and snorkelling and are home to Neptune’s Arm, one of the world’s top 10 dive sites. There’s also fishing, sailing, kayaking and whale watching on offer. Land-based activities include mountain biking, nature walks, yoga lessons, exploring historical ruins, visiting local communities and sunset cruises.

Children

The resort is hugely family-friendly and there are plenty of adventures to be had for little ones. Villas come with children rooms and babysitting can be arranged.
