Bali, Indonesia

You will not fail to fall in love with this peaceful haven of luxury in one of the world’s most culturally rich locations. Located on the outskirts of Ubud, Uma Ubud is our favourite destination for exploring the cultural capital of Bali.

This intimate boutique hotel offers exceptional style and service in the mystical interior of Bali. The hotel hides on the fringes of Ubud, overlooking the fenceless fields of the Tjampuhan Valley and backing onto hillsides of coconut palms and banyan trees wrapped in vines. The River Oos runs below, and the region is rich in flora, fauna and village culture.

The 29 rooms and suites exude the charm of a traditional Indonesian village and the atmosphere of a rural hillside home. Narrow pathways through lushly planted walls make their way between the rooms and suites, each of which have their own tropical garden. The Terrace Rooms are the smallest of rooms, yet these all have large French doors opening onto a private terrace overlooking the gardens. The suites are larger with their own dining and sitting areas and some have a private plunge pool as well. The COMO Suite is an impressive space with its own treatment area which also doubles as a second bedroom, ideal for families. The infinity pool and spacious sun deck of the suite overlook the Tjampuhan Valley.

Kemiri, the restaurant at Uma Ubud, focusses on modern, light cuisine relying on fresh produce which is sourced locally. In addition to Asian dishes the chef offers a wide range of classic international dishes all using exceptional seafood and farm-fresh produce. There is also the option of the COMO Shambhala Cuisine for those who prefer lighter nutritionally rich dishes.

Enjoy a wealth of activities right on your doorstep, exploring the buzz of Ubud on foot is a must to really immerse yourself in the area as is cycling through the paddy fields which can all be arranged by the ever helpful team at Uma Ubud.

Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Bali into a greater Indonesian holiday. Take a look at Sun, Sea & Sumba as an example of a bespoke itinerary that we can create for you.

Uma Ubud Testimonials

Hi,

We had an absolutely amazing time in Bali and everything went very smoothly. The Balinese were so friendly and we loved soaking in the culture and sampling the local food.
Uma Ubud was very lovely and a completely different feel – more zen and we felt so relaxed there. The service was also very good at the hotel and the included breakfast was delicious. I ended up getting a little bit sick and was so relieved to have a doctor on call 24-hours, who was at my room 5 minutes after the call and I had medication soon after, which got me back on track quickly. We took advantage of the great spa and really enjoyed relaxing by the pool and in the very zen common rooms.
I can’t thank you enough for organizing such a wonderful honeymoon for us – for all of your advice and suggestions along the way. We knew from the beginning that we were in very good hands!
Cheers,
JW, January 2011
