Uma Paro by COMO offers exceptional style in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Reflecting an understated philosophy of quiet comfort in a unique, culture-rich location, this inland retreat is also dedicated to activity and adventure and is an ideal base to start your Bhutanese adventure or somewhere to spend longer and perhaps enjoy one of Uma Paro’s renowned yoga retreats.
The landscape is dramatic with pine-clad valleys and snow-tipped ranges, and as Bhutan is a Buddhist Kingdom, culturally it retains its respect for religious tradition. You can access this world with the inland treks, comprehensive tours and excursions led by the highly professional Uma guides.
A stay at Uma Paro is about discovering the essence of Bhutan – its culture, religion and landscape. You can plan trips around festivals or take privately guided day walks, camping treks and mountain biking, with visits to monasteries, markets and museums.
Throughout the year there are yoga retreats and Uma Paro also offers regular well-priced, all-inclusive itineraries for group adventures of between three and 12 travellers. The fixed departures for seven and 12-night tours are well suited to single travellers or couples wanting to join up with other visitors to Bhutan. Designed to give unparalleled access to the country while simplifying logistics, these group adventures allow guests to explore by foot, bike or 4WD. Meals are included, the tours generally featuring a combination of nights at Uma Paro and other hotels.
Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Paro into a greater Bhutan holiday.
