This semi-permanent, luxury tented camp is located in the Serengeti, in northern Tanzania, one of the world’s most famous national parks. Ubuntu Camp moves to three different locations throughout the year as it follows the legendary wildebeest migration.

Ubuntu Camp is an extremely comfortable, traditional safari camp with a warm and relaxed ambience. Offering personalised service, superb guiding and exceptional game viewing, Ubuntu will appeal to adventurous travellers seeking an intimate and authentic East African safari experience that is great value and has unrivalled viewing of the Great Migration.

It provides seven spacious and tastefully appointed canvas tents furnished in classic safari style. Each one is designed for maximum comfort and privacy and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views.

Witness dramatic river crossings and calving on thrilling game drives, spend a lazy afternoon by the pool or watch game wander on the grassy plains in the comfort of your tent. Visits to local villages and a romantic hot air balloon safari can also be arranged. A picnic in the bush is a must.

Ubuntu Camp Information

Location and getting there:

The camp has 3 different locations in the Serengeti, northern Tanzania. Ubuntu West (May to July) – a 45-minute drive from Grumeti airstrip (approx. a 2-hour flight from Arusha international airport)
Ubuntu North (August to November) – a 45-minute drive from Kogatende airstrip (approx. a 2-hour flight from Arusha international airport)
Ubuntu South (December to March) – a 60-minute drive from Serengeti South airstrip (approx. a 2-hour flight from Arusha international airport)

Accommodation:

Ubuntu Camp comprises 7 tented suites including a family tent that sleeps four. Each one is decorated in a traditional safari style and features double or twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with hot-water bucket shower.

Facilities:

Open-plan main area with living and dining space and bar

Activities:

The emphasis at the camp is on morning and evening game drives but guided walking safaris and bush breakfasts and dinners are also on offer. Hot air balloon flights can be arranged.

Children:

The camp welcomes families with children aged 5 and over, however as there are no specific facilities for them and the camp is unfenced, it is more suited for families with older children. There is a family tent.
