Set to debut in late 2016, The Silo is the latest addition to the storied Royal Portfolio. The hotel will be an iconic property in an iconic destination – a quintessentially South African experience, accentuated with elevated luxury.
The Silo will be a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Set in a historic converted grain silo, the hotel will occupy six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), a modern art museum to rival the best around the globe. In addition, the site is surrounded by galleries, restaurants, shopping, bars, clubs, and cafés. Visitors will be enthralled by the choice of activities and entertainment.
Visionary design by international architect Thomas Heatherwick, will see the elevator tower of a historic grain silo, circa 1924, converted into an elegant icon on the Cape Town city skyline. 28 suites and a lavish penthouse will be housed in the tower, whose geometric design will become a beacon on the harbour, offering views of Robben Island, Devil’s Peak, Lion’s Head, and the glittering ocean beyond.
