In the heart of the capital, a stone’s throw from Knightsbridge, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park lies one of London’s most quintessentially British abode, The Lanesborough. Erected in 1719, the Lanesborough was once the St George’s Hospital building, before being converted into the luxury hotel that we know it as in 1991.
After an extensive refurbishment, the hotel reopened its doors in July 2015. Overseen by designer Alberto Pinto, the comprehensive and meticulous refurbishment took 18 months to complete.
The newly re-opened hotel enables The Lanesborough to regain its position as London’s finest residence and builds on the property’s architectural heritage as one of London’s most revered Regency landmarks. Each of the 93 bedrooms and dining rooms have been restored to their original splendour, whilst the latest technologies and entertainment systems have been seamlessly added to bring this historical building into the digital age.
The Lanesborough boasts some of London’s most revered settings for dining. Executive Chef Florian Favario – Eric Frechon’s protegee – is at the helm of Celeste, which offers gourmet cuisine set under a dramatic glass roof. In addition to Celeste, the hotel is home to one of the capital’s finest Cigar Lounge – The Garden Room. The Library Room and The Withdrawing Room are an inviting retreat for informal meetings or relaxing drinks.
The Spa Studio is also an integral part of The Lanesborough, offering three deluxe treatment rooms and a curated selection of treatments from brands such as La Prairie, delivered by an experienced team; a true haven of wellbeing and calm.
