Mekong River, Cambodia and Vietnam
Journey along the fascinating waterways of the Mekong River aboard the new Aqua Mekong. This stunning 62-metre ship, designed by David Hodkinson and Luc Lejeune from Saigon-based Noor to resemble a five-star boutique hotel, is the third luxury cruise ship from Aqua Expeditions. It offers a unique and exceptionally stylish way to visit Vietnam and Cambodia.
Embarking from Siem Reap, Phnom Penh or Saigon, the Aqua Mekong offers three, four and seven night cruises up or downriver.
Built from local materials in an ultramodern style with artisanal touches throughout, The Aqua Mekong is impressive inside and out. It has an exclusive and intimate ambience and provides the utmost comfort with generous interior spaces and superb facilities, including a stunning observation deck with an outdoor plunge pool, an exercise room, a library and a screening room. The one-to-one staff-to-guest ratio ensures the needs of every guest are met.
The Aqua Mekong features 20 elegant and sophisticated suites, eight of which have balconies. Each suite comes with a Californian king-size bed, an en-suite sitting area and state-of-the-art amenities, and offers views of the Mekong River through floor to ceiling windows. Bathrooms are extra large and luxurious. Interconnecting suites are available for families. For the ultimate luxury, two interconnecting rooms can be transformed into a vast floating one-bedroom apartment.
Enjoy fine dining and a lavish and constantly changing menu of locally-inspired gourmet cuisine, designed by Michelin-starred executive chef David Thompson of Bangkok’s Nam restaurant.
A wide variety of on and off shore excursions are available. Visit the flooded emerald forest, Buddhist monasteries and pagoda temples, all accessible only by boat; follow bike paths along the scenic backwater canals in Vietnam; accompany the chef on shopping expedition to the wet markets; watch traditional silversmiths at work; or enjoy private moments away from Cambodia’s bustling river life on secluded river banks. Guests also have the chance to visit the temples of Angkor Wat.
Back on board, relax on your daybed in the privacy of your cabin; head upstairs to the Observation Deck and relax in the lounge with a cocktail of your choice; take a dip in the plunge pool while you admire the scenery; or enjoy a revitalising massage. After dark enjoy the view as the night sky fills with bright constellations and shooting stars.
