Tafika Camp lies on the banks of the Luangwa River, in a remote area of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park offering some of the finest leopard viewing in Zambia. This luxury safari camp has been designed to blend in with the natural surroundings and has a rustic-luxe feel. It is owner-run and is considered one of the best camps in the area.

Tafika Camp provides six spacious and comfortable chalets dotted along the river for maximum privacy. Each one is built from thatch and reed and features a rustic interior with locally handcrafted furnishings and colourful quilts. Each chalet comes with an outdoor shower with a view.

The camp combines superb game viewing and thrilling activities including game drives, mountain bike safaris, walking safaris and visiting the nearby Mkasanga Village.

Location and getting there:

The camp is located on the north side of the Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. It is a 1.5-2-hour drive from Mfuwe Airport.

Accommodation:

It comprises 4 thatched chalets with double beds, a honeymoon suite with an oversized king-size bed and 1 chalet with 2 rooms for families. Each chalet features simple décor, polished stone floors, solar-powered lights and a large bathroom and outdoor shower.

Facilities:

Main area with dining area, lounge and bar.

Activities:

The focus is on day and night game drives but there are other activities including walking and bike safaris, cultural visits to a nearby village and bird watching.

Children:

The camp is hugely family-friendly however given the nature and location of the camp, it is suited to families with children at least 12 and over. Children under 12 are can be accommodated at the owner’s discretion.
