Sweet Gobi ecolodge, 260 kilometres from Ulaanbaatar, is based in the area of Bayangobi. It is composed of up to 20 yurts set up at the foot of the golden sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai facing Khugno Khan National Park. No electricity or running water is available at the lodge to minimize its impact on the environment.
The gers are tastefully decorated and equipped with twin or king beds, traditional furniture and ceramic stoves. Guests are provided with towels perfumed with essential oils twice a day for cleansing. A screen in each yurt provides a private space in which there is a small reserve of water for washing. Bathrooms are dry toilets set up inside tents, located around the camp. In a special yurt called “Hair Cocoon”, you can have your hair washed by a Mongolian hostess. It’s also possible to book a massage.
