Located in north-central Kenya, in the heart of Samburu land lies Sasaab, the only lodge in the area, boasting a vibrant safari experience with views towards the Laikipia plateau and stunning Mount Kenya.
A fusion of Moroccan and Swahili design, Sasaab is an intimate lodge with 8 individual cottages accommodating up to 18 guests. The main swimming pool is built cliff-side and therefore offering sweeping views of the landscape and is the perfect cooling retreat from the African heat.
All guests enjoy full-board throughout their stay and dining is a lovely experience, which takes places outdoors. Sasaab uses the highest quality and freshest products available from their vegetable garden and dishes are inspired by Moroccan cuisine. During dinner, the Kenyan skies offer a superb show.
Spasaab is the lodge’s spa and offers a tranquil setting overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River for a much needed massage or a rejuvenating yoga class after an eventful day of game viewing.
Its proximity to the Buffalo Springs National Reserves means that there is abundant wildlife in the area, and the ‘Samburu Special Five’ (beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenul antelope & Somali ostrich) can easily be spotted. Whether by foot, by car or by camel, there is always something unique to experience in the wilderness
