Located just outside Siem Reap, the Sala Lodges are an authentic and quieter glimpse into Cambodian lifestyle.
The eleven wooden stilt houses scattered across sprawling gardens that compose the Sala Lodges once belonged in Cambodian countryside villages. Dismantled, transported and beautifully restored, they now offer guests ultimate comfort in their home away from home. Each traditional house has its own history and architecture with modern touches here and there, which makes the Sala Lodges a one of a kind and cozy hotel. House Boun, for example, was originally built in 1983 in the village of Opo and reconstructed in 2011 in Sala Lodges. Today, it is a welcoming house for families wanting to experience Cambodia.
Each house is appointed a tuk-tuk driver to cater to the guests’ needs: a drive around Siem Reap, to a restaurant, to the city’s markets or off to explore the temples of Angkor.
After exploring the mysterious and extraordinary Angkor Wat complex, enjoy a sunset dip in the infinity-edge swimming pool, a relaxing finish to your eventful day. To re-energise, the Chef and his brigade will delight you with their light and balanced dishes, an ingenious mix of Khmer meets west.
Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Siem Reap into a greater Cambodian holiday. Take a look at Siem Reap in a Weekend as an example of a bespoke itinerary that we can create for you.
