Raja Ampat, Indonesia
This chic eco dive resort is fringed with powder-white beaches that are protected by stunning clear lagoons and some of the world’s richest reefs in the diving paradise of Raja Ampat.
With just 12 cottages, Misool Eco Resort offers a diving holiday like no other. There are 8 Water Cottages and 4 Deluxe Villas each stilted over the placid North Lagoon. All the furniture and fittings have been hand-crafted on site from recycled wood by their team of resident Javanese artisans and local apprentices. Each spacious cottage is equipped with air conditioning, a mini-bar and a Balinese-style en suite bathroom. They all have a private veranda on which you’ll enjoy gentle tropical breezes and glorious equatorial views.
The Dive Centre and beachfront restaurant are just steps away, looking out over a shallow turquoise lagoon – the perfect place to enjoy a sunset drink while watching the black tip reef sharks hunting in the bay. Although the focus is on the diving and the location is remote to say the least the restaurant offers a broad range of Asian and Western dishes with a focus on fresh, local and organic fare. Afternoon tea on the terrace, sampling freshly baked treats like lemon and cardamom biscotti is a real treat after an afternoon of diving.
Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Raja Ampat into a greater Indonesian holiday. Take a look at Raja Ampat Aboard the Damai as an example of a bespoke itinerary that we can create for you.
