Mashpi Lodge

Quito

This luxury boutique lodge lies deep in Mashpi Reserve in the remote northwest of Ecuador. A spectacular cloud forest retreat, it’s designed to completely immerse you in forest life.

This eco-lodge is sophisticated, ultra-modern, and features striking architecture - all the materials were brought into the forest using existing logging roads and assembled on the spot. It’s also home to an array of wildlife including a staggering 500 species of birds.

The 24 stylish and spacious rooms and suites all feature magnificent views of the forest. Suites come with oversized Philippe Starck bathtubs, perfect for relaxing in as you look out across the valley.

All meals are included and served, in the dining room. At dinner, there is table service and a diverse menu of Ecuadorian cuisine that changes nightly.

There’s no pool, but there is a spa with a Jacuzzi and panoramic terrace with jaw-dropping views.

Why we recommend Mashpi Lodge

Nature meets glamour at Mashpi, incredible creation of steel and glass deep in the cloud forests of the Ecuadorian Chocó. With floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows throughout, guests receive an utterly immersive and thrilling stay. Hiking trails are also great here – trek past waterfalls, lush greenery, and hundreds of species of birds, butterflies, jungle frogs, and sometimes even pumas.
