Mary Budden Estate is a charming, family run luxury homestay. It is located just north of Almora in Uttaranchal in Northern India and is one of only five privately owned estates in the sanctuary.
This eco-friendly hotel provides seven tastefully furnished rooms and suites located within two luxurious and cosy cottages. Each room features rustic décor, fireplaces, antique kilim rugs and delightful porches. Both cottages have their own dining room and lounge and a team of staff is on hand to attend to your every need.
The hotel is the perfect place to unwind and there is a huge array of unique experiences on offer. - Location & Getting There
Mary Budden Estate is located in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, just north of Almora in Uttaranchal in Northern India. Pantnagar, the closest airport is 155 km away. Air India has scheduled flights from Delhi to Pantnagar four times a week. Helicopter charters can also be arranged.
Seven rooms and suites situated in two cottages: Mary Budden Cottage and the recently built Rhododendron Cottage. Each room features rustic décor, fireplaces, antique kilim rugs and delightful porches. Most come with ensuite bathrooms. There is a team of staff with each cottage. A further 11 rooms can be found at the Dalar Village Homestay.
- Both cottages have their own dining room and lounge. Indian, international and continental cuisine is served.
- Table tennis and badminton
There are endless activities on offer in and around the hotel. Early morning walks into the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary; bird watching with naturalists; riding along the forest trails on the estate’s ponies; Yoga; evening bonfires.
Day trips to Jageshwar with its 9th century temples or to Chittai bell temple or the cave temple of Gananath can be arranged and almost every month a festival is celebrated in the nearby regions, which you can attend.
