Lapa Rios

Osa Peninsula

This luxury boutique resort is set on a 1000-acre private nature reserve overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Golfo Dulce, in Costa Rica’s wild Osa Peninsula. A nature-lovers paradise, it’s home to an array of wildlife including monkeys, macaws, sloths, and tree frogs.

Lapa Rios provides 16 luxurious thatched-roof bungalows nestled in the rainforest. The open-air bungalows feature handmade bamboo and teak furniture, king-size beds with mosquito nets, ceiling fans, two indoor showers, and private decks with outdoor showers overlooking the ocean or gulf. There are no televisions so you can completely escape the outside world.

Food is a highlight and the open-air restaurant serves up an innovative menu of cuisine, prepared using fresh, locally sourced produce.

Two excursions per day are included in your stay. Hike to waterfalls, go bird watching, or visit a local school. Surfing, boat trips, horse riding, and scenic flights can also be arranged.

After a busy day, laze by the pool, take a yoga or Chi Kung class, or indulge in an Ayurvedic massage.
