Kapamba Bushcamp Information

Location and getting there

The camp is situated on the banks of Kapamba River in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. It is almost a five-hour drive from Mfuwe Airport.

Accommodation

Each of the five chalets is open-fronted to maximize the views and features colourful contemporary décor with North African influences, carved wooden furniture, an inviting bed draped with mosquito nets and a lavish bathroom with a sunken stone bath that can be used as a plunge pool in the heat of the day. Wrought-iron shutters are drawn in the evenings so you can enjoy sounds of nature surrounding you. Two chalets have two queen-size beds and two have a king-size bed.

Activities

As well as walking safaris, there are day and night games drives offered every day as well as bird watching. One of the highlights is sipping a G&T as you dip your feet into the middle of the river.

Children

Children over the age of 12 are welcome but the camp has a romantic feel and is better suited to grown ups. (Children under 12 can be accommodated if the camp is booked for private use.)

Why we recommend Kapamba Bushcamp

“Kapamba Bush Camp likes to do things a little differently. Offering concrete walls as opposed to thatch walls like the other camps, it doesn’t fit the mould of a typical old school camp, but the open fronted rooms are a unique style in the Luangwa valley and the camp location offers excellent game viewing.”
