Inle Lake, Myanmar
Built as an extension of Inle Lake’s serene beauty, the luxurious and well appointed Inle Princess Resort embodies Myanmar’s rich history and is an ideal base from which to explore the culture and beauty of the lake.
Nestled within the blue mountain ranges on the east bank of Inle Lake near the Magyizin Village, the Inle Princess Resort is encircled by the tranquil lake as well as lush, tropical gardens. Built on stilts above the lake, the resort’s 46 wooden chalets combine simplicity with modern comfort as guests relax amidst the magnetic beauty of the surroundings – endless green rice paddy fields, undulating rows of mountains and the serene stillness of the great Inle Lake.
For a truly authentic experience, the resort’s spa incorporates the special meditation and cleansing techniques of the Shan people who are known for having a way of healing the body, mind and soul using traditional herbal medicine. Relive ancient traditions with beauty rituals such as using “Thanaka” on the cheeks and “Kimpun” scrubs to cleanse your body.
Whilst exploring the lake, be sure to visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most famous religious site on the lake. You will find five 800 years old Buddha Statues and in October there is a spectacular festival lasting around 18 days at this pagoda. Other wonderful experiences are visiting the silk weaving village and the Floating Market which comes together once every five days. Here you can find gold and silver wares which are the main products of the village.
Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Inle Lake into a greater Myanmar or Asian holiday.
